Secure and Scan
The animal stands in a stall or chute. The collector goes over the muzzle and the RFID tag is scanned.
QuickFlux scores individual animals on metabolic efficiency in the handling facilities you already have, then ranks your herd top to bottom. Measured data behind every breeding, culling, and replacement decision.
Two animals on the same ration in the same pen can perform very differently, and the pen average hides it. QuickFlux gives every animal its own measured efficiency score, so you know which ones are converting feed into milk or beef and which ones are costing you money.
Estimate metabolic efficiency without individual feed intake equipment or a months-long trial.
Works with headlocks, chutes, palpation rails, and tie stalls. No permanent installation and no site prep.
Work through a full pen, string, or group in a day instead of a season, across hundreds of animals.
Rapid Phenotyping System
QuickFlux uses the same flux-based measurement methodology as GreenFeed in a mobile system designed for throughput. With measurements in 3–5 minutes, you can phenotype more animals for emissions and efficiency at a more justifiable investment.
Each measurement captures methane (CH₄), carbon dioxide (CO₂) and hydrogen (H₂), with oxygen (O₂) available as an add-on.
MEI – Metabolic Efficiency Index
Each QuickFlux measurement produces an MEI score for that animal. Every animal is ranked against the rest of its group, so you can see who is converting feed efficiently and who is not. One measurement is statistically sufficient to rank an animal. Additional passes increase confidence and track change over a lactation, a feeding period, or a ration change.
How It Works
The animal stands in a stall or chute. The collector goes over the muzzle and the RFID tag is scanned.
Breath and ambient air are sampled together. A light signals when the measurement is complete.
Each record is logged and transmitted to C-Lock over Wi-Fi or optional cellular. Move to the next animal.
C-Lock algorithms flag outliers and a C-Lock expert verifies the dataset before MEI scores and rankings come back to you.
Global Standard in Emissions Measurement Technology
GreenFeed is built for permanent efficiency phenotyping. Installed with the animals in the pen, barn, or pasture, it collects measurements through voluntary visits throughout the day. That takes more time than a single QuickFlux measurement, and it gives you deeper insight into each animal's emissions and efficiency over time.
| GREENFEED | QUICKFLUX | |
|---|---|---|
| Role | Depth: continuous emissions data over time | Reach: rapid individual phenotypes across more animals |
| Measurement | Voluntary visits throughout the day, in pen, barn, or pasture | One 3–5 minute measurement per animal in a stall or chute |
| Installation | Stationary unit placed with the animals | Portable. No permanent installation or site prep |
| Method | Flux-based, 800+ peer-reviewed studies | The same flux-based method as GreenFeed |
| Best for | Long-term emissions research and diet or additive trials | Herd-wide efficiency screening, ranking, and selection |
Who Uses QuickFlux
Measure every animal in a pen or string, not a sample. Identify top and bottom performers fast enough to act on breeding, culling, and replacement decisions in the same working window.
For ProducersIncrease sample size without increasing trial length. Collect individual phenotypes across large populations and move one system between sites.
For ResearchersCollect animal-level emissions data across supplier herds without installing equipment at every site, and benchmark with a consistent process.
For CorporationsSee the full specifications, product options, and data delivered on the QuickFlux product page, or talk to a C-Lock specialist about your herd.
