What your feed is actually costing you per animal — not per herd.
Two cows on the same ration convert it differently. On a herd average they look identical, and you keep paying for both.
C-Lock Inc. builds precision measurement equipment for both cattle and dairy producers. Our systems record what each animal eats, what it weighs, and how efficiently it converts feed — in the barns, feedlots and handling facilities you already have.
That data tells you which animals convert feed cheaply, which ones are costing you, and what to do about it. Built in Rapid City, South Dakota; running on farms and research stations worldwide.

HALLE 11
STAND C03
C-Lock scores every animal in the group it actually runs with — cows on income over feed, bulls and feeders on cost of gain — then ranks them top to bottom.
Two cows can eat the same ration, milk in the same parlor, and look the same in the alley — yet turn that feed into very different amounts of milk. Bulk-tank averages hide it. A per-cow number doesn't.

MEI Score
Nearly the same feed bunk. Very different milk out of it. $1,725-per-year swing between these two cows — and you can't see it from the alley.
Two bulls can eat the same ration, stand in the same test pen, and look the same over the rail, yet convert feed into gain at very different rates. That difference is heritable, and it rides straight into their calves.

Cost of gain — lower is better
Same intake range. Nearly identical daily gain on the scale. Almost twice the cost per pound. $456 per head separates the top and bottom quartile across a 180-day test.
Come to the stand and we'll walk you through what indexing your own herd would look like: every animal scored on efficiency, ranked top to bottom, and what that ranking changes about your breeding, culling and day-to-day management. It is the same conversation whether you milk cows or feed cattle.
Rapid Phenotyping System
QuickFlux scores individual animals on metabolic efficiency in 3 to 5 minutes, in the handling facilities you already have. The Metabolic Efficiency Index ranks your herd top to bottom, giving you measured data behind every breeding, culling and replacement decision.
Ranked top to bottom
Every animal scored against the group it ran with — not a sample.
No intake trial
No individual feed intake equipment and no test period to run.
Uses your current facilities
Headlocks, chutes, palpation rails, tie stalls. No installation, no site prep.
Running on farms, feedlots and research stations in more than 50 countries. Built in Rapid City, South Dakota.
Every day of the show, Tue 10 to Fri 13 November. Just turn up — or book a private demonstration below.
Two cows on the same ration convert it differently. On a herd average they look identical, and you keep paying for both.
Measured intake and measured gain give every animal a cost of gain, ranked against the group it ran with. The bottom of that ranking is where your money goes.
Daily intake and daily body weight flag the animal that goes off feed before the pen average moves. Earlier action, fewer losses, less feed wasted.
Feed efficiency is heritable, and it rides into the next calf crop. Breeding values need measured phenotypes in volume. We'd like to talk about what that takes.
Two pieces of hardware sit in the pen and do the counting for you. No chute work, no scheduled weigh days, no added labor.
SMARTFEED.
Individual feed intake
Animals walk up and eat on their own schedule. The RFID reader identifies the animal, the bunk weighs the visit, and intake is logged to the animal — not the pen. Every meal, every day, automatically.

SMARTSCALE.
Daily body weight
Mounted in front of the water tank, SmartScale weighs every animal every time they drink. Daily body weight, captured without ever moving the animal — no chute, no shrink, no scheduled weigh day.
